To my professors, classmates, friends and to my fellow students, a pleasant morning to every one of you
Gender equality – the words that every man, women, gays and lesbians desires, but the most affected to discrimination since then was females. Feminism -- the ideology that brought women’s confidence, motivation, willingness, and power to change the view of society and culture to their standing as women.
The ideology that receives plenty of criticism, on the other hand, never been affected to those criticism. The ideology, which enforces equal gender role treatment, women’s right, and fairness in every manner of living – this is feminism theory, a set of goals, ideas, visions and actions, and action to make gender be the same among men. This theory interests me when I was in high school, wherein in one of my subjects discuss the works of Lualhati Bautista, a Filipino feminist. Her works are somehow liberated that truly means she’s a feminist.
Ever since, as we go back to our history male dominance is already there, and to that time women are afraid to fight for the right due to lack of confidence and doesn’t have the strength to stand to their own.
Among, to the several types of feminism theory, I chose the radical feminism, for the reason that, radical feminism doesn’t hate men otherwise not blaming men as the reason of gender inequality. But, it condemns the patriarchal or the government as the reason of inequality between men and women. Due to this, government the rights of men and women has been divided, privileges and power primarily by gender as well. That results oppressing women and privileging men.
As I have said, this kind of feminism doesn’t hate men. Nevertheless, there are circumstances that radical feminism equates man-hating, because for them men are inseparable philosophically and politically.
Thus, I do agree in radical feminism, sometimes it’s in the government itself, how it will help its people in promoting better life – a better life for both men and women. In addition, it is the government has deficient knowledge and feeling on how men and women will be affected to their decision.
I as a men, I desire for equal treatment in any kind of gender. Since, we are made by God we should love and respect each other in any manner. Yet, I do believe having gender equality will make the world a better place.
To end this speech let me share you a part of a song lyrics that is really popular, for the women “so hold your head up girl and you’ll go so far... don’t be a drag just be a queen” because you have the ability to change what men look on you. For the men like me, women deserve to be loved and respect and they do deserve protection from men, most of all they deserve to belong in this magnificent world.
Once, again a pleasant morning. Thank You.
